Effective Public Speaking - Part 1

Greetings,
Well I see that a handful of people are great orators and speak brilliantly. Be it a classroom, a seminar hall, a presentation, they are always ready to speak and can speak on any topic at any given time infront of anyone ! But it isn't anything that is inherited. Anyone - who follows some basic steps - can certainly be a great speaker.

To being with, What is Public Speaking ? In simple words, it's speaking in public ! But technically it is defined as "the process of speaking to a group of people in a structured, deliberate manner intended to inform, influence, or entertain the listeners"

This is commonly understood as a kind of face-to-face communication between individuals and audience for the purpose of communication. It can often be expressed as WHO is saying WHAT to WHOM using WHAT medium and with WHAT effects.

Now what is the purpose for public speaking. Certainly no one would be speaking to an audience without a purpose. Or will they be ? Anyways there can be several purpose, but the main or common ones are the following :

• Imparting Information - the act of sharing information with the audience. 
• Motivating People - this basically includes motivational speech and talks that help motivating some one.
• Act of Story Telling - public speaking can very be an art of story telling.
